Real or imaginary
“The practice of seeing and imagining”
“Real or Imaginary” is an ongoing project which I started in my MA course. A picture book connected to a research that intentionally invites children to practice the act of seeing and imagining. The story uses anthropomorphic features and encourages a better understanding of metaphor to help the child reader towards an effective transfer of information from picture book to real world contexts. The story aims for children between three and five years of age and is conceptually designed to foster dialogue between adult and child, asking questions while they explore the illustrations and text simultaneously.
